Talent

Why your Talent person is the most important Brand Ambassador to your company

Ben Roberts

As a Talent recruiter, you are the first point of contact and first impressions count.

The candidate experience begins with their initial contact with the company whether that is being approached or through application.

You need to believe in the company you represent. With no belief, you are working at the wrong place.

Prepare a narrative to attract and engage your candidate, tell stories of the great experiences and career paths present employees have had.

Understand the company’s vision, purpose and dreams and be able to articulate it well.

You want your story to get the candidate excited and desire the opportunity to work there.

From there you make the call if they make it further, but ensure whatever the outcome they enjoyed their time with you and learnt more than they hoped for. You never know, you might need them in the future.

Word of mouth and social media is a powerful thing but a bad first interview can be even more dangerous.

If you care who you work for and passionate about their beliefs, talented people will want to be part of the journey
