We are all Unique

Ben Roberts

Genetically speaking we are as similar to Roger Federer or JK Rowling.

Whether you have felt frustration in a foreign country or annoyance with co-workers, we are more similar than you think.

We have all felt detached at times but it’s good to remember we share more than we don’t.

Your DNA is made up of 3 billion based pairs, which means between any two people they share 29.999 billion pairs that are the same. If you printed them out it would take up to 262,000 pages and only 500  pages would be different.

Why is this? Well because it is similar to the animal kingdom.

Imagine the Notre Dame and your house, they both have doors, windows, a roof and foundations but it’s form that differs not the basic building blocks. And that’s same with DNA, most of the building blocks are the same but the slivers of difference is what makes us unique.

So we should remember that humans are much more alike than different especially as the world seems to become more divisive.

Let’s remember our shared humanity, after all it’s in our genes.
