Transformation, Uncertainty and your Potential

Ben Roberts

The word and need for transformation has been bandied about for over a decade.

We know it’s the future but we aren’t completely sure what is.

We all know Blockbuster failed to take notice and now have a few remaining stores, intriguingly 7 in Alaska. Some companies burn brightly then fade fast.

Think MySpace and Friendster. Others grow into monsters and seem destined to control the world like Google and Facebook.

As people our natural instincts are to belong and feel part of something that is heading in the right direction .

So let’s reframe transformation as a company buzzword and focus on ourselves more.

You can only reach your potential, if you continuously learn and develop. Teach yourself new skills, read things you normally wouldn’t, change jobs and industries, connect with interesting people. Travel and experience new things.

Variety is the spice of life so if you can’t transform yourself into your best self, how can you contribute to a company who wants to transform themselves?

 Your contribution is valuable.

 Do what makes you happy.
