RIP Colin Meads

Ben Roberts

A Lion of Man.

A part of New Zealand’s soul died today.

Sir Colin Meads, one of rugby’s greats passed away from cancer at 81 today.

Nicknamed Pinetree because of his imposing figure and stature, he was a giant on the field and a gentleman off it.

He revolutionized the game of rugby with his skill and determination, and played a significant role in New Zealand history.

Named New Zealand’s greatest player in the 20th century, he remained involved in rugby throughout his life even being the All Black’s manager in the mid-nineties.

They say Rugby is the game played in Heaven and now they have a wonderful addition to the team up there.

While Colin has sadly passed, his legacy will never be forgotten.

A true great and an inspiration to many.

There are heroes and then there are heroes who rise above the rest.

Colin Meads, New Zealand will never forget you.
