Our obsession with Fear and Confrontation

Ben Roberts

Stephen King’s novel now film IT has already broken all sorts of records, already grossing over $372 million in less than the month it has opened. Outgrossing his previous highest box office success, The Green Mile in just over a week.

With fear, mortality and survival being the major themes although portrayed in a scary manner what does this say of us?

Being curious and watching something like this makes us think about issues we often don’t want to confront.

Confrontation is something that some people thrive off and some people deliberately avoid. At work, inevitably we will sometimes find ourselves in situations we don’t want to deal with so you need to find your best way on how to handle your circumstances.

One tested and true method is do the difficult things at the start of the day and spend less time worrying about them.

A healthy paranoia can be successful but only if it is balanced well with your personality and strengths.
