Creativity

Mr Men

Ben Roberts

Creativity knows no age.

Adam Hargreaves was 8 years old, eating his breakfast and as children often do, idly daydreaming.

He asked his Dad, Roger an innocuous but curious question.

What does a tickle look like?

Laughing, his dad then went off and drew a yellowy-orange man with long arms.

And so Mr Tickle was born.

It was 1971 and Roger Hargreaves was an advertising copywriter and this was a day to change his life.

He saw life in these characters and created more and with his copywriting skills was able to write succinct and humorous stories.

He wrote 46 Mr Men books & 33 Little Miss books.

Consistent with his writing, each character’s story reflects their namesake and personality & gives the reader an entertaining story with a moral learning. With sales of over 100 million worldwide across 28 countries,

Roger Hargreaves is Britain’s third most successful author of all time

We are  born with two ears and one mouth so listening to the innocent minds of children can provide food for thought.

A random question sparked a phenomenon.

The more random conversations we have, hopefully spark off greater ideas & help make the world a better place.
