Inspirational women

Ben Roberts

Aviator, Amelia Earhart. Gender diversity is a hot topic these days and rightly so, the world needs to be represented accurately with female leadership.

However we mustn't forget that women were forging paths many years ago. It was on this day in 1928 that Amelia Earhart became the first female aviator to fly across the Atlantic solo. A huge, admirable achievement. She wrote many best selling books and was crucial in forming an organisation for female pilots. Sadly she disappeared without a trace in 1937.

We need to embrace more female leadership and paths for women and am seeing strong progress over the last few years. Instead of it being portrayed as a negative thing that men get the big jobs, there are many women who do too. it should be positioned more aspirationally. The more negativity that is written about it, the harder the fight becomes. We miss what the real truth is and that is anyone can become a trailblazer as Amelia Earhart proved.

We are all human regardless of gender or race.

What are your thoughts? Is this controversial or is the reality we live in?
