That’s how 2018 looks defined as colour. Pantone, the famous American company known for colour matches each year identifies a Colour of the Year that best captures the zeitgeist of today. For 2018 the colour selected was Ultra Violet.
It communicates originality, ingenuity and visionary, their Executive Director explained, also stating that it is the most complex of colours as it takes two shades that are diametrically opposed in red and blue and brings them together to create something new.
Is it a colour that is trying to do too much for everyone, evoking the spirit of fashion and music as well as trying to create unity between two strong shades and what they represent.
A colour to inspire hope and change even.
Who knows what the future holds but maybe ultra violet will light the way.
