Hunetrs and Gatherers

Ben Roberts

From the start of humankind, hunters and gatherers were key to survival and progress.

When we think of hunters, we visualise someone who is quick and strong, who can seek a hunt and move quickly.

Gatherers we perceive to be more meticulous, slow and deliberate. Someone who stays in a smaller area and can notice change in the present.

Both have been important in human survival and in today’s society we can see hunter innovators and gatherer innovators.

Hunter innovators see changes on the horizon and connect dots on a broader level between consumer trends and technologies. They tend to create new products and sometimes new industries, disrupters.

Gatherer innovators look deeper into smaller areas and connect dots at lower levels finding ways to unlock value and make businesses more profitable. They innovate developmentally.

So a winning combination is the mix.

Hunters to create major innovations and Gatherers to make them profitable.
