Houston Strong

Ben Roberts

In times of adversity, sport shows how it can hold the fabric of a city together.

The Houston Astros are going to the World Series after a thrilling 7 game series win against the famous New York Yankees.

After the devastation of Hurricane Harvey in September, the baseball team of Houston has provided a platform for the community to recover, rebuild and unite.

Led by the little maestro, Jose Altuve, the Astros have showed their determination and pride in Houston by driving the team to their only second World Series appearance in history.

The team has been actively involved in relief efforts and wearing a blue patch on their jerseys signifying Houston Strong since the hurrricane.

Not only the face of the community, the team has helped put a smile on the faces of the city and that’s the beauty of sport.

In times of hardship, people look for a distraction and something that can help the healing process and that’s exactly what these Astros have done.

Houston Strong indeed, and now to win the big one.
