Fads and Kids

Ben Roberts

In the 80's it was Cabbage Patch dolls, in the 90's it was Tamagotchi, the 2000's it was Neopets and a couple of years ago it was loom bands.

Now it's the turn of fidget spinners. Originally developed as an office stress reliever now they have hit the school playgrounds.

And it's good too see kids stopped from being glued to screens again. Playing and being competitive with toys once more.

Youth passes quicker than you imagine and everyone has great memories of the times they had at school. Playing and engaging with each other, having fun and not just talking about the latest episode of Sofia the First and Paw Patrol or the newest toca app.

It won't be long before schools ban them but let them enjoy their innocence while they can.

They are already 15 of Amazon's top 20 selling toys. Ironically it's the digital era that's helping spread them globally.

So what fads were you into or memories you have from your youth?
