They won back the America's Cup, the Auld Mug. The most prestigious event in Sailing.
Emirates Team New Zealand came close to shutting it doors after losing the last final 9-8, after leading 8-1 back in 2013 Against Oracle, a team backed by a billionaire who made the the rules that the race was to be in Bermuda and ploughed millions into his team recruiting the best sailors in the world.
Team NZ were all homegrown apart from one, innovated and were tactically better. For a country where Sailing is so important again this mean they host it once more. In the face of adversity Team NZ stood up and led from the front.
They were brave, innovative, and mentally strong.
The America's Cup is the New Zealand Cup once again.
