Da Vinci & Tesla

Ben Roberts

It’s not being outrageous saying that sleep deprivation isn’t the best.

Although try telling that to Leonardo Da Vinci or Nikola Tesla.

For us mere mortals, a lack of sleep contributes to us eating unhealthily, lessens the ability to learn and basically eats our brain.

For Da Vinci and Tesla, sleep was a like a waste time. They followed a sleeping patten called the Uberman Sleep Cycle.

Basically, what that consists of is taking six 20-minute naps a day.

By adhering to this strict sleep cycle, they could gain an extra 6 hours of day of productivity.

Tesla did suffer a mental breakdown though at an early age, while Da Vinci proved to an extraordinary human being in many ways.

Certainly, the Uberman sleep cycle is not something for most people, even seems exhausting thinking about it.

Mid- day naps prove to be more effective but that is after a good night sleep’s too!

Sleep helps productivity but we don’t need the extremes of the Uberman Sleep Cycle to do that.
