Buddhism. Today in Singapore (May 10) is a public holiday called Vesak day or Buddha Birthday day.
It is celebrated across most countries in Asia, not all on the same day due to different lunar observance.
Celebrating Veska means making special effort to bringing those happiness, to the unfortunate like the aged, sick and poor. It is also a time a for great joy and happiness. Exactly what the world needs right now.
The four atttributes of Buddhism are;
- Wisdom- we are able to create new possibilities and inventions
- Compassion-we are able to add more love and kindness into life by adding it into the life of others.
- Knowledge-we are prepared for the obstacles and challenges of our careers and lifestyles
- Merit-we develop our reputations which influence how people treat and respect us.
I am not a Buddhist but today I think we should believe in their values and especially help bringing happiness to someone at least.
