Big data is a phrase that has been bandied about for some time but does it really work for HR and Talent?

Obviously compentence and skillsets need to be refined and tested. However working in teams is about harmony, chemistry and cohesion.

As ace recruiter, Laura Wallace pointed out “the notion that data driven decision making without empathy undermines the notion that computation trumps humanity.” Intuition and chemistry is what creates successful teams not just numbers.

Humans are not robots, well not yet anyway, so emotional reactions can’t be judged by a spreadsheet. Humans are more unpredicatable than spreadsheets. Some industries I agree need data more than others but I would be curious to hear your opinions of data over intuition or vice versa and especially experiences.
